CI Tuesday classes at Chisenhale- Summer term

It’s starting again tomorrow. Come and join in playfulness and gravitation.

If you want to connect with others in dance, get more skills to let go, trust, listen, lift and share weight in effortless way, come to my Tuesday evening class at Chisenhale dance Space.

Each week, we will co-create a playful and safe space for experimentation and exploration. Every class will start with games and tasks to awaken our awareness of inner and outer space, followed by integrating basic skills of Contact Improvisation in a simple and guided way. Practicing falling, rolling, floating, lifting and supporting, using gravity to move effortlessly.
Over 10 weeks you will deepen your knowledge of how to share weight and communicate through dance with the group and in pairs. The class is designed to support students over the 10 weeks as well as support those who drop-in for one session, from beginners to improvers.
We will approach other themes such as touch and no touch, following and leading, support, structures and lifts (low table and high table), centre and extremities, shared weight and shared balance, upside down, head to tail connection, dynamics, and momentum.
Some classes will be accompanied by live music.
Please wear comfortable clothes.
*This class can now be booked as a drop-in class as well as a 10-week course.

The course will be led by Marie Chabert and assisted by Justin Philpott
